Pilot installation of a water quality monitoring site on the Selenga River near the settlement of Ust-Kyakhta
The fieldworks were carried out within a research project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation "Fundamental bases, methods and technologies for digital monitoring and forecasting of environmental conditions in the Baikal natural area"
From 7 to 11 September, 2022, a temporary monitoring site for water quality from Mongolia was located on the Selenga River near the settlement of Ust-Kyakhta as part of the automated complex based on the CTD probe JFE Rinko AAQ-177.
The monitoring site worked autonomously. Measurement data from different sensors were promptly transmitted to the Limnological Institute database and was displayed on the monitoring system.
According to the analysis of data and conditions of the station location, there will be developed recommendations for placing of a permanent monitoring site for the ecological condition of the Selenga River flowing into the Russian Federation at the border area of Naushki settlement.
