The research vessel construction for LIN SB RAS was included in the Long-term plan for the construction of civilian vessels of the Russian Federation until 2035

According to this plan, it is planned to build two ships by 2030. The ships will be constructed by Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center JSC and Livadia Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Plant (LRSZ). The first vessel is expected to be completed in 2028.
