Expedition on board RV "Akademik V.A. Koptyug", July 2-7, 2018, within the framework of the International Youth Forum "Baikal - 2018".
During the expedition on board RV "Akademik V.A. Koptyug", young
researchers of Limnological Institute took part in the International
Youth Forum "Baikal - 2018" on July 2-6, 2018. They sampled
zooplankton and benthos for practical training and demonstration at
lectures, as well as water for hydrochemical express analysis.
Excursions-lectures were delivered for 215 participants of the Forum
on the following topics: "Hydrochemistry of Lake Baikal", "Monitoring
Studies of Baikal Plankton: History and Present", and "Recent
Microbiological State of Lake Baikal". During the expedition, 52 water
samples were collected in Maloye More Strait for
sanitary-microbiological analysis. The researchers from Laboratory of Aquatic
Microbiology analyzed total coliform bacteria, thermotolerant coliform
bacteria, enterococci and total bacterial count.
