Expedition on board the RV “Papanin” from 29 to 31 August, 2022

The expeditionary works on the investigation of reproductive characteristics of the August spawning stock of yellow-winged broadhead Cottocomephorus grewingkii at the sites with different anthropogenic load of Southern Baikal" were carried out within the program “Study of seasonal and long-term transformations of the state of water bodies and watercourses in East Siberia in the context of climate change, geological environment and anthropogenic loads” (project № 0279-2021-0005) (led by A. Fedotov).

The data on number and density of the distribution by depths of the August laying eggs of C. grewingkii were obtained on the anthropogenic-loaded shallow water sites (Kultuk settlement, Sliudyanka town, Sukhoi Ruchey settlement, and Baikalsk town) with subsequent comparative evaluation of the data of the previous years. The works were carried out on 16 half-sections.

During the fieldworks, there was noted a high degree of overgrowth of stony littoral by green and filamentous algae in all diving areas.
