Dear Symposium participants,
Every 4 years, since 2003, the Baikal Symposium on Microbiology “Microorganisms in the ecosystem of lakes, rivers and reservoirs” has been held.
The aim of the Symposium is to discuss and exchange research results in the fields of ecology, microbiology and virology.
The Symposium will cover the following scientific areas:
- The microbial communities diversity in aquatic ecosystems.
- Microorganisms and their associations with hydrobionts.
- Autochthonous and allochthonous viruses in water bodies.
- Biofilm formation in aquatic ecosystems.
- Molecular and genetic studies of aquatic microorganisms and viruses.
- Modern microbiological and virological monitoring of water bodies under conditions of global warming, assessment of water quality.
- Microbial degradation of pollutants and xenobiotics in aquatic ecosystems.
